Music and art have a long history of collaboration and it is no exception at the Placitas Artists Series. Annually, we host artists drawn from many genres to add another dimension to the concert series. The artists have been selected by jury from a large number of applicants. Each of the nine months of the season the Series exhibits the beautiful work of four of the final 36 artists. Originally most of the art exhibited came from the local Placitas area but over the years artists from neighboring communities have submitted their work. All New Mexico artists are eligible to submit their work. If you are an artist wishing to apply for the 2012-2013 season, a prospectus and application are available in MSWord or as a .pdf file. A reception to meet the artists and view their work begins at 2 p.m. prior to each concert. Take time to browse, talk with the artists and become familiar with the creative process. All artwork exhibited is for sale; payment is accepted by cash, check or credit card.
The Series also arranges for visual arts displays at the El Pueblo Family Healthcare in Bernalillo and U.S. Bank in Placitas.
