   Laura Robbins

Laura Robbins celebrates what is important to her: the imagination and the sacred. In her mosaic work, she combines glass with hand-made glazed clay forms and other objects, such as stone, to create large murals and small intimate scenes of unique designs. Her work moves between whimsical and personal images of nature and organic, abstract designs. The exquisite properties of stained glass are especially interactive with light and the mosaics take on lives of their own as reflections change throughout the day, whether inside or out of doors.

Her home is in the foothills of Sandia Mountain, New Mexico. She shares her ridge top with her family and artist-friends, as well as hawks, ravens, rattlesnakes, rabbits, coyotes, beloved wild horses and homey toads.
